Supercush has been together since 2005. In all this time, we’ve played live a lot but never really got a full recording together. If things don’t completely blow up, it looks like we’re finally closing in on an EP.

Here’s an early taste (no mixing, no vocals):

That’s right, I’m quoting Bill O’Reilly to let you know that Supercush will be joining a host of other bands in a night of incestuous country and rock and western and roll. We will be bringing the rock and the roll, naturally. Oh, and perhaps some t-shirts. The plan is to fill the joint, sell out of shirts, then do terrible things to your tympanic membranes.

Here’s the link to the Facebook event page. I keep suggesting a live feed of the show, but it’s a lot of extra grief and my life is all about avoiding any and all extra grief these days. So, you’ll just have to come out and see it yourself.

Man, that was some four-band mayhem, and that was only the first event. The House went deep into the night with some touring bands/spoken word dudes. Everything I heard was great; I have hope for the future of loud rock.

Check out these guys in/around DeKalb:
Blump
The Stock-yards

Also, I hinted at some Ustream video but just didn’t have it in me. I need to get someone to manage that for me sometime. Setting up, tearing down, negotiating start times, and drinking beer take up lots of time. There’s also reconnecting with old friends, watching a parade, eating Thai food, etc. DeKalb has its trappings. Next time, for sure.

Quick thanks to John at Kickstand for setting it up, Blump and the Stockyards for being cool and making me head-bang, to Barb for the Norther Star article (and for the wholly appropriate name), and a special thanks to all the folks who came out and stayed out for us and the later show.

See you at the next one.

The time for working has nearly ended. The time for rocking is nigh upon us. And, lo, should we find ourselves within range of reasonable wi-fi, and yea, if our venerable IT guy/drummer can get his shite together, then verily there will be a live Ustream feed. Checketh back sooneth…

It hasn’t gone to our collective head. You’ll still be able to approach us at the House Cafe tomorrow night. We probably won’t stop the set half way through if someone in the audience isn’t paying attention. We likely won’t tear up our hotel room, either.

However, you can’t deny the Internet fame: Local band warns: super loud

See you tomorrow.
